Children & Family Privacy Notice

For parents and guardians · Effective date: 10 June 2026

This notice explains how Kid / Mio handles information about children in your family. It supplements our Privacy Policy. Please read it before adding a child to your family.

1. Who creates child accounts

Children cannot register on their own. Only a parent (or authorized guardian) with a parent account can create a child profile, set login credentials, and add the child to the family.

2. What we collect about children

We do not require a child’s email address or phone number.

3. What parents can see

Parents in the same family can view and manage:

A second parent joined via family code has the same visibility as the first parent, unless you remove them by leaving the family (account management between parents is described in the app).

4. Push notifications for children

If the child’s device allows notifications, we may send alerts about achievements or reminders. iOS shows a system permission dialog. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Kid / Mio.

5. Photos

Some tasks may ask the child to attach a photo from the photo library as proof of completion. Photos are stored securely and visible to parents in the family. Do not assign tasks that would cause children to upload inappropriate or third-party private images.

6. No ads, no sale of child data

7. Deleting a child’s data

Parents can permanently delete a child account:

  1. Open the child’s profile in the parent app
  2. Scroll to “Danger zone” / Delete child
  3. Confirm deletion

This removes the child’s account, tasks, coins, MIO data, and uploaded photos from our systems (subject to brief backup retention described in the Privacy Policy).

Deleting your own parent account may also delete the entire family and all children if you are the only parent — see Terms of Service.

8. Your consent

By creating a child account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian (or have appropriate authority) and consent to our collection and use of the child’s information as described in this notice and the Privacy Policy.
